Hi, I’m Rachel Irons — founder of Shiftline Nutrition.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Arizona State University, but my passion for nutrition, fitness, health, and wellness started long before college. I grew up playing sports, became deeply involved in strength training during college, and even competed in a bodybuilding show in 2022.
Over the years, I’ve explored many different approaches to training, nutrition, and dieting, always driven by a goal-oriented mindset and a desire to better understand how the body performs and recovers.
Since joining the Phoenix Fire Department, I’ve learned firsthand how demanding shift work and high-stress careers can impact overall health. Long shifts, interrupted sleep, fatigue, stress, training, nutrition, and everyday life responsibilities can quickly become overwhelming if there isn’t a sustainable system in place.
I made a personal commitment to stop fighting against the demands of my career and instead learn how to work with them. Through experience, education, and consistency, I found an approach that supports my health, performance, recovery, and lifestyle — rather than working against it.
That experience is what led me to create Shiftline Nutrition.
My goal is to help shift workers and first responders build realistic, sustainable nutrition habits that support their performance, recovery, body composition, and long-term health while navigating demanding schedules and real-life responsibilities.
